Cookies

Cookies are files that enable storage or access to information already stored on the end user’s device during or after the user’s visit on a website.

The cookies used on this website do not store any personal data, but are used to remember users’ preferences or protect websites. Some functions of the website will not work unless its user accepts cookie installation.

What kind of cookies we use:

  • Persistent cookies are files that are stored on the user’s device, even after the user leaves a given website. The aim of the storage and access to that information by the website administrator is to remember the user’s preferences and choices during the user’s visit to the website
  • Session cookies are indispensable for information transfer between a server and browser and, in this way, are required for proper display of the content of the visited website and its full functionality. The aim of the storage and access to that information is identification of a given session (a dialogue between the browser and server) and  the users who communicate with the server at the same time.
  • Third-party tracking cookies, with which the website administrator co-operates, enable third-party companies storage of information concerning the number of visits and remembering users on websites. The aim of the storage and access to that information is collecting data concerning the traffic on websites. These are not personal data. Google is one of such companies that offer analytical services.

How can you not accept cookie installation using your browser settings?

The majority of  browsers accept cookies by default in order to ensure a user’s comfortable viewing of a website and proper display of its content.

The user who does not want to have cookies placed on the user’s device may reject/ not accept the installation in the following way

1. In Internet Explorer you should:
select from the main menu: “tools/ internet options” and then in the section “privacy” tick “advanced” and switch off cookies.

2. In Mozilla Firefox you should:
select from the menu: “tools” and then “options” and select a privacy level in the section: “privacy”.

3. In Opera you should:
select from the main menu: “tools” and then “preferences” where you should select: “advanced” and then: “cookies”.

4.In Google Chrome you should:
Select: “options” from the menu on the right side and then: “advanced” and “cookie settings”.

The above browsers are just examples. In view of the variety of browsers used, there could be differences in the manner of cookie files deactivation. The information concerning cookies can usually be found  in the menu: “tools” or “options”. For details consult the browser producer’s instructions.

It should be noted that storage and access to some cookies on a user’s device may be indispensable for the proper functioning of a service (website).
